Your anonymous messages link on WhatsApp Status

WhatsApp Status reaches your friends and family in one go. This guide shows how to put your island link on your status, as text or with a picture, and how to get people to actually write to you.

How do I put the link on my status?

Copy your island link, open the Updates tab in WhatsApp, tap the pencil to create a text status, and paste the link with a line that invites people to write. Links in a text status can be tapped, and anyone who opens it can start writing to you straight away; they sign in once to send.

Copy your island link from Sea Messages (seamessages.com/b/yourname).
Open WhatsApp and go to the Updates tab.
Tap the pencil icon to create a text status.
Paste your link and add a line like "Send me a message without your name, kindly".
Tap send, and the status goes out to your contacts.

Can I post it with a picture instead?

Yes. On the Me tab, tap Make a story sticker and save the picture, then post it as a photo status to catch the eye. Right after it, post a text status with your link, since links in a text status can always be tapped.

Why does my link show a small picture?

WhatsApp shows a preview for links, with an image and a title, which makes your status look better and gets more taps. If the preview doesn't appear, wait a few seconds after pasting the link before you send, or send it again.

How do I get more messages?

Ask something specific instead of "send me anything", like "tell me something nice about me" or "what's your favourite memory of us". Post in the evening when people are online, and when a kind message arrives, share it with your reply as a card to remind people your link is there.

Will I know who sent a message?

No. Someone who writes without their name stays anonymous to you, unless they choose to show it, and nobody can pay to find out who sent a message. Details: Can they tell who sent it?
