Your anonymous messages link on Snapchat

Snapchat is one of the most common places to share an anonymous messages link. This guide shows how to attach your island link to a snap and post it to your Story, so friends can write to you without their name.
How do I attach the link to a snap?
Copy your island link, take a snap or pick the ready-made story image, tap the paperclip in the side toolbar, paste the link and tap Attach to Snap. Then send it to My Story; anyone who views it can open the link and write to you, signing in once to send.
- Copy your island link from Sea Messages (seamessages.com/b/yourname).
- Open Snapchat and take a snap, or pick the ready-made story picture you saved with Make a story sticker on the Me tab.
- Tap the paperclip (link) icon in the side toolbar.
- Paste your island link and tap Attach to Snap.
- Send the snap to My Story so your friends see it.
What picture should I use?
On the Me tab, tap Make a story sticker and save the picture: it shows your island's name and link, sized for stories. Save it to your camera roll, pick it in Snapchat, and attach the link on top with the paperclip.
The link won't open for my friends?
Check that you pasted the whole link, starting with seamessages.com/b/, and try opening it yourself from your Story. If the paperclip icon is missing, update Snapchat. You can also add the link to your profile if that option is available for your account.
How do I get more messages?
Write a clear question on the snap instead of "send me anything", like "what's the first thing you remember about me?". Post in the evening when friends are online, and when a kind message arrives, reply and share it as a card so they remember your link.

Is Sea Messages connected to Snapchat?
No. We have no integration with Snapchat; you simply attach a normal link to a snap. Snapchat doesn't know who wrote to you, and we never reveal senders to the people they write to.
Do my friends know I read their messages?
A sender sees that their bottle arrived or was read, like a read receipt in any app. Their own identity stays hidden from you if they sent it without their name.
