Sea Messages on your home screen

Sea Messages works in the browser, but it's nicer as an app: it opens full-screen from an icon on your home screen, and on iPhone that's the only way notifications work. It takes under a minute, with no store and no download.

Can I install it directly?

On most Android phones, yes: if the button below appears, tap it and accept. If it doesn't, or you're on an iPhone, follow the short steps for your device below, then open Sea Messages from the new icon.

On iPhone (Safari)

Open Sea Messages in Safari, tap the Share button at the bottom, choose Add to Home Screen, then tap Add. Open it from the new icon and turn on notifications in the Me tab. Notifications need iOS 16.4 or later.

  1. Open seamessages.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow) at the bottom.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Open Sea Messages from the new icon and turn on notifications in the Me tab.

On iPhone the home-screen app keeps its own session, so you'll sign in once more inside it.

On Android (Chrome)

Open Sea Messages in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu at the top, then choose Install app or Add to Home screen. The icon appears with your apps and opens full-screen; notifications work from the browser or the icon.

  1. Open seamessages.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) at the top.
  3. Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. Accept, then open Sea Messages from the icon.

Why am I not getting notifications?

On iPhone, notifications don't work inside Safari, only from the home-screen icon. Also check that you turned them on in the Me tab, that they're allowed in your phone's settings, and that it isn't during the quiet hours you chose.
